Thank you for the wonderful history of the church that you have posted. I have visited the cemetery at Rocky River and transcribed tombstones for the Hall and Tucker families buried there. The Rev. Nathan Hall mentioned in your history is most likely Rev. Nathaniel Hall from Halifax County, Virginia. He came to Pendleton District with his brothers John and Fenton Hall. I looked up RRBC when I learned that my nephew, Stephen Payne, is now Pastor. I wish him and his family all the best. I also learned from reading the very interesting history of RRBC that there have been family connections to a number of people/ placed noted. R. Fred Fowler was Pastor of First Creek Baptist for some years. He was also involved with the Saluda Baptist Assn. DB Webber was married to Marguerite Franklin Webber - cousin of Stephen's grandmother, Ruth Fowler Payne. Also, Stephen's great-aunt, Earline Fowler Simpson married Pat Simpson, who grew up in that area. Earline gave musical concerts, singing/ playing piano at RRBC in 1984,'85. Though long before Stephen's time, EC White was a longtime pastor of Oakwood Baptist Church - Stephen's church when he was a teen. Dr. Bill Piper, his brother Elmer, and his parents have long been known to our family -- some having stayed in our home in Anderson, SC. Oscar Edmonds & his family were also friends of our family after he started a church in the Anderson area. It was exciting to see how the history of RRCB and our family has kind of come "full circle" with Stephen and his family now ministering there.

CONGRATULATIONS to John and Wanda Burton-Crutchfield on the birth of their son, Owen Graham Burton-Crutchfield, born Feb. 27. Owen weighed 8 lb. 9 oz. Esta Burton is the proud grandmother.

CONGRATULATIONS to Kay Kent, our pianist and wife of our Music Minister, Harry Kent. She has recently had a new children's book published, "Please Tell Me Grandma Why The Sky Is Blue", illustrated by her friend, Lu Broome. Her book introduces God as our Creator. Kay says others in this series, introducing other Biblical truths to children, are to come. This book is delightful.
